Alternate Handstands
If you are getting bored of your regular handstand, your handstand push ups is too easy, you don’t feel like climbing stairs on hands today then wait no longer. Try the alternate handstand movements.
Handstand in non-training clothes.
Try do handstand in your non regular training clothes, do jeans, shirts, shorts, dress and so on. Different clothing can sometimes be a obstacle in them self. Ever tried handstand in your dress? Or perhaps your working clothes? I guarantee you that the experience will be different from what you are used to. So go ahead and try!
Ball between legs
A football, volleyball, basketball or something to have between your legs. This looks more impressive, and requires a bit different technique than you’re used to in you ordinary handstands. Trainee Eva shows how it’s done. It’s harder than it looks. Go ahead and try!
Handstand Feet Throws
This one is quite fun, try to throw things with your feet. Imagine throwing a ball into a wall with your feet – of course on hands – and before it bounce back you do a neck flip and catch it with your arms or feet. Now that’s a cool combo!
Handstand on Variable Ground
Two footballs, do handstand on them, try to keep your balance! This can be done on bosu half balls, balance board, on buses and trains (though I don’t recommend it due respect of the public laws and areas and people who use them)
Jump Rope with Your Hands
This one is a hell of fun. Requires two partners who can swing the rope, and you on hands – jumping like a maniac – in the middle. If you’re able to to more than 15 jumps I suggest you film it at contact me. I’ll be sure to make the rest of the world know.
Dance on Hands
A great party trick that sure will take the breath of many people. Requires some practice first? Clap your hands is a great song performing to! Just remember that during parties you may not have the balance you usually have, mainly because of reasons such as alcohol or milk.
Skateboard Handstand
I don’t recommend it, however I didn’t say you shouldn’t try.. There hasn’t been any reports lately that people have died from attempting this, but a lot of reports mention bruises, broken bones and to near objects broken/shattered.
Obstacle Course
This one is hell of a fun. It is challenging and will make you very adaptive to different surroundings when it comes to be on hands. The obstacle course can be anything anywhere.
Go trough water, over obstacles, limitations on heights, rocky, cold, down slope etc. Everything. Note that this may suite the expert or dedicated experts, but don’t let it stop you from trying!
Obstacle Course on time
I bet you can’t cover your track 1/3rd of the time as you would have walked in on your feet.
Handstand Precision Jump
Can you land on the exact same place three times in a row? Can you jump as far as you want to? Do you even manage to jump on hands forward?
.
Pick and Toss things on Hands
Not does it only look hilarious, it is hilarious to do. Place an small object on the floor, get up on hands and try to grab the thing and trow it before you loose balance. For an additional challenge you can set yourself a target.
Destination: Where in my house?
This is a nice game to play if you want to improve your handstand walking abilities. Set yourself a start and destination point, then walk. More challenging can be to walk from different rooms to another. Be aware of the licking tongue of dogs and parents nagging about footsteps on the wall – These are quite common unless you live alone.
